We serve a God of more than enough.

July 28th, 2009 No comments

No matter what you know, think or feel you are going through in these strange and ever changing times we are in, remember to lean on God for ALL your needs. He will ALWAYS supply you with what you need.

I know, I know, sometimes it’s easy to say but hard to do, right?

Have FAITH my brothers and sisters and never give up!

 Matthew 6: 24-34

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Gossip or Judgement…. I’m just saying.

July 18th, 2009 9 comments

I’m just saying.

Are you having conversations with your family, friends and co-workers about others and what they are or aren’t doing? Is that judgment or gossip?

Maybe instead we should pray for them!

I’m just saying.

1 Timothy 5:13

Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to.

2 Corinthians 12:20

For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.

Matthew 7: 1-5

”Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

”Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

The Bondage of Conditional Love!

July 13th, 2009 3 comments

I will love you if….

… you will cut your hair.

… you would dress better.

… you get rid of your piercings.

… you quit lisstening to that type of music.

… you give me gifts.

… you would have sex with me.

… you will do drugs with me

… you will cut with me.
… you will leave your friends for me.

… you lose some weight.

… you will abort that baby.

… add yours here if you have one.

Jesus never puts stipulations on us. He loves us unconditionally and chose to die on the cross for our sins.

He didn’t say “I will love you if….”

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

You can experience freedom from conditional love through Christ.

Are there  bondage issues you need released from?

A Chat with a Proclaimed Atheist.

July 3rd, 2009 1 comment

I had a very interesting conversation recently with a “proclaimed atheists.” Now the reason I put “proclaimed atheists” in parenthesis is because he made the statement that I didn’t acknowledge him as an atheist, but just a proclaimed one.  My reasoning behind my choice of words was very simply because several times during our 2 hour conversation he made reference to Biblical terms, which he appeared to know.  And during our time together, he said the term “Thank God”, which I thought to be very ironic.

We discussed several topics, one being an earlier blog of mine, Millions of Choices and the topic of character qualities. Now on the subject character qualities he asked me what I felt some of my character qualities were and where I felt I got them from? In response I said that I had learned them from the Bible, my family and friends and many other outside influences and observations.   He stated that he too possessed many of these same qualities and had learned them from the very places that I had, with the exception the Bible. Which in turn made him question me and how he could possess these same qualities since there is no God that wants us to hold any of these qualities? That was a very strong question!  But the answer is very simple to me…. The Devil is a liar! The Devil knows the Word of God and uses it all too well. He tempted Jesus by twisting the Word and he thought that he could persuade Jesus into doing things to prove God was God and by accepting the gift of this world in exchange for Jesus bowing down and worshipping him, instead of His Father in Heaven. (Matthew 4) But Jesus was no fool and neither should you be! Please know that the Devil will tempt you with trickery and lies.  I feel that The Devil has used the word “Atheist” to persuade people that there is no God and that their existence is just that, existence and when the day comes they just die and it’s over.  In no means am I saying that this man that I spoke with or any other atheist is evil or a bad person, just misled. My opinion is an atheist has chosen to believe the Devils lies and it’s just that, lies!  So think of it like this, both of us have chose to live a life in the best we can, believing two different ways. I belief that there is a God in Heaven and him that there isn’t a God at all. So in the end when we die, If I am wrong (which I think I am not) I die and all I do is rest or no long exsist. If he’s wrong though and there is that God, what is he going to do then and where will he be spending his eternity?

In closing, there is a God in Heaven that wants to have relationship with us while we are here on Earth and He also wants us to have eternal life with Him in Heaven. Therefore He sent His Son to live and die for us.

Always remember that we live in a fallen world that is full of good and evil.  Life is full of “Millions of Choices”, so what will you choose to believe, Truth from Heaven or lies from the evil one that will lead to a devastating end?

Jesus lives in us, so love your fellow man just as He did, regardless of who they are and what they believe in or do. Just love them. (John 13:34)
